Hinesburg Affordable Housing Committee

Meeting Minutes

September 4, 2008

Committee Members Present: Carl Bohlen, Julie Pierson, Bruce Wheeler, Dale Wernhoff.

Also Present: David Mullin

The meeting came to order at approximately 7:05 PM.

Previous Meeting Cancelled: The meeting planned for August 7, 2008 had to be cancelled due to scheduling conflicts.

Guest Speaker: David Mullin of Green Mountain Habitat for Humanity discussed projects his group has worked on over the last few years, some of the problems that have come up, and their solutions to those issues. His group is very interested in moving on the East Buck Hill Road property that has been discussed in previous meetings. Various scenarios were brought up on how to proceed.

Election Day Flyer: Carl suggested we print up a flyer that would be available for pick up on Election Day to drum up interest in the community. It could explain what the Affordable Housing Committee is all about and maybe even get some people in the community interested in helping out in whatever way they can.

Affordable Housing Committee Blog: Bruce is working on starting a blog.  It’s in the early stages; he’ll keep us posted as it develops.

David Carse Project: This project, west of Route 116 and north of Geprag Park on Shelburne Falls Road, received approval from the Development Review Board. It still needs to pass Act 250. David is contemplating his timeline.

The meeting was adjourned at approximately 8:40 PM.

Next Meeting - October 2, 2008 – Agenda not discussed.

Respectfully submitted,

Dale Wernhoff
