The Recreation Department runs many programs which are
published in a programming guide three times per year: Winter, Spring/Summer, and Fall.
The Recreation Commission meets as needed throughout the year. The Coordinator oversees and manages the
programs and activities of the Recreation Department.

Enjoy the 4th of July Holiday in Hinesburg with your neighbors! Events start on July 3rd with the
annual running of the Hilly Hobble Foot Race Wednesday evening July 3rd. The Hinesburg 4th of July
Parade runs down Main Street (Route 116) beginning at 11 a.m. Thursday morning. The Book Sale at Town
Hall is once again the place to find books for your summer reading pleasure. And of course, everyone

Every year the Hinesburg Recreation Department is pleased to present the Hart & Mead Concerts
in the Park. Concerts are held Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. throughout July and early
August at the gazebo behind the Hinesburg Community School in the Village.
There's no need to leave town to hear great music... lots of talented performers perform right here
in Hinesburg. Grab a blanket or chair, some snacks, and a few friends and enjoy a free concert in
the park - a great community event. Hope to see you there!

- Lyman Meadows Park and playing fields, located in the heart of the village behind Lantman's Market.
- Wainer Park and Playground behind Hinesburg Community School which includes playing fields, basketball
court, tennis courts, a children jungle gym/slides, picnic facilities and pavilion.
- A wintertime hockey rink next to the tennis courts.
- Indoor programs and sports held at Hinesburg Community School and in the Town Hall.
- Geprag Park which is located on the Shelburne Falls Road. The park has acres of hilly meadows
with trails for walking, birding, and cross-country skiing.
- Hinesburg is one of four towns sharing a beach on Lake Iroquois. The beach offers picnic facilities,
a playground, and snackbar. There is no lifeguard. Beach stickers are available in the Town Clerk's Office. Day
passes may be bought at the gate. Lake Iroquois also has a state public boat access. Jet skis are prohibited.
- Hinesburg's Town Forest is located at the top of the ridge between Texas Hill Rd. and Hayden Hill Rd. Parking
is available on the eastern side of Texas Hill Rd. at the bottom of the hill.
- The Lewis Creek Association, with members from several towns along this small river, has programs and volunteer
efforts focused on the east-west river valley and its resources. They also are working with the Hinesburg Land Trust
on acquiring lands along the creek.
- Hinesburg has an 18-hole golf course and driving range.
- Snowmobile trails organized by V.A.S.T. (The Vermont Association of Snow Travelers) run through parts of Hinesburg.

- Annual Fourth of July celebration with events of all kinds over two days, including a town-wide parade.
- An annual summer and winter music series with concerts by various local and regional musicians.
- Town-wide Garage Sale Day in May organized by the Hinesburg Business and Professional Association.
- Annual Halloween party organized by the Hinesburg Community Police, Fire Department and First Responders.
- Annual Winter Carnival held on the second weekend in February.
- Annual Fall Harvest Festival and dinner.
